CAP PC

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for Primary Care
Strengthening and integrating the relationship between community-based primary care providers and child psychiatry

  The Departments of Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo, University of Rochester, Columbia University, SUNY Upstate, and LIJ/NSU are pleased to announce the CAP PC project. Funded by New York State Office of Mental Health for 2 years this is a multi-site project bringing together university-based Child and Adolescent psychiatry divisions across NY State and the REACH Institute to provide primary care physicians with the following:

  CME training by REACH Institute in recognizing, assessing, and managing mental health problems in children and adolescents. This intensive training is lead by Peter Jensen, M.D. and a group of internationally renowned medical teachers. The program is at no cost to participating PCPs and consists of a three day dynamic workshop, involving interactive, active learning techniques.    Access to project child/adolescent psychiatrists for phone and face-to-face consultation support 5 days a week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

   Access to project case manager to assist with linkage and referral to specialty child mental health services.
